Lean UX Approach

Research

Surveys with 500+ users tracking daily expenses. Interviews with individuals looking for better budgeting tools. Competitive analysis of existing expense tracker apps.

Prototyping

We explored multiple solutions through sketching and mapped out the complete interaction flow for the end user in Figma. After several iterations, we finalized the key features for the MVP.

User Testing

Prototype testing was done with selected users  for gathering their feedback, identifying usability issues, and making necessary refinements before moving into development.

Key findings based on our initial research

70% of users

found manual expense logging tedious

65% want

an automated categorization feature.

85% found

limited control over notifications and spending alerts.

Key considerations

Based on our findings, we brainstormed solutions and validated ideas through wireframes and prototypes. Key features included:

- Auto-categorization of expenses based on AI-powered insights.

- Personalized budget setup for different spending categories.

- Notifications and alerts when nearing budget limits.

- Daily / Monthly spending breakdowns and savings trends.

🚀 User Testing

We realized that the most important factor was understanding what users truly need. Our user testing on the first design concept gave a insight on what they need on the app. And this approach allowed us to simplify and refine our design.
